Here at WE MAKE SUPER DENIM we’ve always been fond of British taste and related memorabilia and when we saw this video we were just amazed. I’m sure almost all of you already have seen the “Keep Calm and Carry On” sentence on graphics or merchandising to symbolize a certain expression of a Britishness, but I’m also sure the very few of you know where it all comes from. Let us take you to the remote north eastern corner of England to discover the full story with this amazing and beautifully done video by Barter Bookshop.
We’re proud to announce that we will be part of this Turin – Berlin event at Hannibal Store featuring the photo exhibition of Alex Foley, the man behind that awesome place called Civilist in Berlin and longtime collaborator of Lodown magazine, which we deeply love too. The exhibiton will kick off on March the 3rd and the opening event will be a very special moment for us since we will preview for the very first time our next Fall Winter 2012 collection, made in collaboration with Alex Foley himself. Can’t wait for that day. See you in Torino then, save the date.
As we seasonally do, also this january we went to Berlin to get fullfilled with ideas and inspiration on how to make our brand, and hopefully our lives, a better thing. We made a short video diary to remind us about all those cool brands, clothes, shoes and especially about these beautiful folks out there who work in the fashion world’s frontline, in a neverending pursuit of the newest cool. We filmed at Seek, Capsule and Bright, and here it is. Music by Beirut.
This morning DAZED & CONFUSED Magazine came out with a nice post about the people who are taking part to Occupy London and I immediately asked myself, one again, what we will think about these times, one or two decades from now watching these pictures. I dont want to end up writing about politics or discuss some kind of possible way out of a wordwide chrisis, but rather give a face to the thousands who are hitting the streets these days to shout out loud that something must chance, and do it through the photos of Robin Sinha and the words of Jacqueline Marcus.

Hannibal Store is opening a new space in Turin on this upcoming december 9th and of course we will be part and parcel of the whole thing. We are super excited about it because all plans and ideas they all sound absolutely well promising, specially considering the fact tht the place will be mainly destined to Art, Design and Music-related events and not only for sellng products, even though they’re wonderfully crafted pants ahaha. We already can’t wait for the opening event, come back soon for more details about it and about the FACTORY itslelf. Watch the video below in the meantime, more info here: http://www.hannibalstore.it/factory/
Once in a while I really feel the urge to share some of the thousands informations I happen to find on the web, especially if it’s about art. Working in the fashion industry, we spend a consistent part of the day surfing the web, looking at thousands photos with nice colours, interesting artworks and clothes, beautiful girls and boys on it, ending up in an obsessive search for both inspiration and flaws. Social networks are doing nothing but make it even easier to spend time like that, and also waste it, but always comes the moment when you suddenly feel like saying “Hey you all out there! Wait a second! Stop the internet!”. It happened to me this morning when I stumbled on Roger Mayne’s website. Born in 1929 in Cambridge England, mr Mayne had the chance to witness almost the whole last century, at least the most crucial events, taking photos in a candid way, documenting his people, often kids, youngs or everyday’s life. I suggest you to go and take a look on his website www.rogermayne.com, here is a small selection just to give you a glimpse of his ability as artist.
We nearly already made it! We are extremely happy to announce that at least the 90 percent of our stockists already received the items ordered for this upcoming fall winter collection, that means nothing but just one thing: we did hit the stores so rush to your nearest dealer to check the amazing new pants, colors, fittings and washing. They’re just amazing. Check the Stockists section of our website to find out where to shop We Make Super Denim in your area, and just as a reminder ladies and gents, here is some shots of the new collection, SUPEREGO.
Together with Flower Distribution and Hannibal Store we are happy to announce our latest mixtape for the summer, provided by Big Henry, featuring a mix of fresh punk and indie stuff. Summer is meant to be fun and lively, and this goes to the ones who will have fantastic holidays in the sun but also to the ones who will be trapped in offices and factories, to the restless and never not workig souls and city lovers. One Love! As Refused used to sing “Summer Holidays vs Punkroutine”!
Hey what’s up everyone, the new website is now online and working! We’ve been working on it so hard lately and it’s such a pleasure today to see all our ideas coming up together on these pages. Among all the new contents we want to highlight THE ART PAGE, a page meant to feature visuals of selected artists, and this time we teamed up with the photographer Chris Little from USA. We immeditaley had a crush on his photographs and we wanted to give him more space we could, putting his black metal girl shot all over the website, plus adding a paper tag on our jeans, with that picture and author’s name on it, under the purpose to spread art and ideas together with products.
Please, have a look of the website by clicking here. Comments and suggestions are very welcome so dont hesitate to get in touch.
We are so proud and happy to release the first info and footage about 2012 summer’s collection. After Superfreak, Superutopia and Superego, we tought to pitch it all black and created the SUPERNOIR collection, for the blackest summer ever. I’m not saying this is an all black collection with all black washings and colorways, but rather a stongly contemporary revistitation of bestsellers skinny – slim cuts plus a couple of brand new pants with completely different fitting for the more forward looking minds. Everything designed in Torino and made in Italy.
As previously mentioned we also shooted the campaign teaser last week in Berlin with our friend Pat Bugajski, and we’re happy to share it with you today, click here to watch it. Thanks again to Pat and to Caro Clash.
